Project Description

Resource carried out the refurbishment and extension of the existing Music block which is located in the Grade II Old Stable block of what was Woolhapton House, which is now Elstree School.

The Project Included;

  • Car park courtyard area replaced with hard and soft landscaping to create a pedestrian street.
  • General brickwork adaptations, re – pointing and the installation of new aluminium doors and windows.
  • Internal structural works.
  • Replacement soffits, fascia’s and pipework.
  • Fully upgrade insulating values to existing building fabric.
  • New ceilings and wall linings.
  • Improve mechanical and electrical efficiency and standards.
  • Replacement of flat roof and lead works.
  • Bespoke joinery and new solid timber doors, frames and skirtings.
  • Decoration and designer inlaid flooring.

Urnfield Pavillion

Project Description

The Works at Urnfield Pavilion comprised stripping out works, replacement cladding, replacement fire escape staircase, forming openings for new fire escapes, part window replacements, replacement roof coverings, fascia boarding,
rainwater goods and mansafe system. Internal refurbishment throughout at ground floor, light refurbishment at first floor, replacement mechanical and electrical installations throughout, signage, external works and drainage repairs.

Sythwood School

Project Description

Resource carried out the conversation and extension of the caretakers bungalow to develop a new self contained nursery and after school club.

Woodley School


Project Description

Requiring a number of alterations and updates to their premises, Woodley School retained Resource to carry out the works, completed over a four-week period during the summer break to minimise any disruption and to ensure the new facilities were fully available at the start of the new school year. We also liaised with the local council to arrange building inspection and building control submission to secure the necessary building and alteration permissions.

The project included stripping out all blockwork to the staff kitchen, a small classroom and a changing/shower area. All ceilings were skimmed to provide a level surface, and new suspended ceilings were installed with Cat 2 lighting. All walls were replastered, some external doorways were bricked up, and new partitioning installed. A new break-out area for the children was constructed. Screed was utilised to even the floor level between two areas, and part of the roofing was strengthened. Vinyl flooring and carpeting were laid and electrical work was carried out, including the installation of a distribution board.

From initial shell to full completed handover, Resource planned, sourced and installed reception furniture, window blinds, plants, custom-built feature fish tanks, audio-visual equipment, landscaping, manifestations and other signage. Making full use of our comprehensive interior design services- including AutoCad space planning and 3D visuals – and operating within a tight time frame for the opening of Complete Learning’s prestigious new training centre and head office, Resource completed the detailed project on-time and within budget.
